Welcome and general information

Dear all,
We are pleased to host the next and already the 5th Archaeozoology and Genetics Working Group in Basel, Switzerland. Flyer

2nd circular

Founded in 2002 the aims are to promote collaborations and discussions between archaeozoologists and geneticists (http://www.alexandriaarchive.org/icaz/workag.htm). Highly memorable meetings were organised at Paris (Jean-Denis Vigne, Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle, 2004), Cambridge (Mim Bower, Krish Seetah and their team, McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research, 2006) and Tallin (Lembi Lougas Institute of History of the University of Tallinn, 2008), culminating in the most recent and particular "hot" and lively 4th meeting as part of 11th ICAZ held in Paris 2010 and organized by Eva-Maria Geigl.

Because IPAS specialises in interdisciplinary research between archaeology, archaeozoology, archaeobotany and genetics, we like to encourage contributions about projects involving genetics of both archaeozoological and archaeobotanical remains.

We look forward to welcome you in Basel in 2012!
